Avient Corporation has a position for an Account Manager EMEA, as part of the Marine & Industrial Fibers team. This position supports our Protective Materials Business unit which was recently acquired from DSM Corporation and is located in Geleen, The Netherlands.

THE CHALLENGE

For Avient Protective Materials we are looking for an Account Manager for the segment Marine & Industrial Fibers. In this role you will manage several accounts and drive growth in the Marine & Industrial Fibers segment (amongst others in Maritime, Aquaculture, Lifting, Offshore and Industrial markets). Avient Protective Materials is the leader in the market of UHMwPE fiber producers by providing customers and end users innovative solutions for ropes, nets, slings and laminates. Together with our customers and other key members in our value chains, such as OEM’s, end-users, industry- and certifying bodies, you accelerate the development of new applications and grow existing business based on innovative solutions. New applications and innovative solutions are critical for our future business growth.  All this must happen in a challenging business environment, where we have to create new markets, grow existing markets and protect the more mature part of our business. Develop relationships in accounts is key with both decision makers (management) and the people throughout the entire organization that prepare/influence decisions. 
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

•    Plan, organize, lead and control sales activities and sales growth in the area 
•    Maintain high-level executive contact with accounts and effectively presents value proposition and drives sales programs to the executive/management level.
•    Develop and implement account strategy
•    Lead and contribute to global key accounts and account teams, by effectively communicating and coordinating account activity across global cross-functional teams including Sales, Application Development, Finance, Legal, Operations and Marketing.
•    Implement applications of innovative products and business models with partners in the supply chain
•    Move business opportunities forward by negotiating and implementing contracts, leading projects and obtaining necessary resources for these efforts
•    Anticipates business needs and forms plan to address those needs.
•    Implement direction from Strategic Marketing Plan and Regional Sales Plan to create account strategies with licensee accounts.
•    Deal with multiple market segments in different stages of development and maturity.
•    Promote sustainability, innovation, quality, low cost of ownership and safety as key value drivers.
•    Monitor and benchmark competitive products, market requirements and competitive business strategies (competitive profiling) and incorporate market intelligence in account and sales plans.
•    Follow corporate initiatives including SHE. 
•    Directly reports to the Regional Business Manager EMEA 

THE IDEAL
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales, marketing or product management with a proven track record of business impact and development.
•    Master’s degree in business, engineering, marketing or similar; or a bachelor degree with relevant experience.
•    Commercial experience in selling high performance fibers or related products and/or experience in maritime, aquaculture or offshore industries.
•    Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build partnerships.
•    Ability to service and influence multiple positions in the value chain.
•    Experience in strategic account management/development.
•    Effectively communicates and engages audience.
•    Ideally, having residence within proximity of Avient Protective Materials HQ in south of the Netherlands (Geleen, close to Belgium and German border) or wiling to relocate.
•    Willingness to travel 20%~40% of the time within EMEA.
•    Hybrid working is part of the package (when not travelling you’ll be working partially at APM HQ in Geleen, partially home office)
