Knowledge/Education/Certifications
  • Associates Degree Preferred.
Skills
  • Must have knowledge of and understand the chemistry of raw materials, such as pigments, resins and additives, to ensure formulations result in the lowest cost, on-color designs, which can be efficiently converted into production processes.
  • Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/material identifications.
  • Must have math skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one and in small group situations.
  • Must have ability to reason and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of small hand tools, scales, spatula, barrel cart, hand trucks, fork lift, utility knife, and mixer/blender machinery and computer equipment.
Experience
  • 10 years relevant experience preferred.

  • Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.
  • Work is inside and the typical noise level is loud.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The individual is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
