Education and Experience 

  • BS/BA in related technical field with 1 year manufacturing experience; OR AA/AS degree in related technical field with 2 years manufacturing experience; OR high school diploma with 3 years manufacturing experience.
  • Six (6) months Avient Protective Materials fiber production experience.
  • The Console Operator will operate within the Greenville Fiber Production organization.  He/she’s decisions have substantial impact on the stability and quality of our fiber processes.  Ability to make timely judgment calls is critical to sustaining efficient operations.  Deliberate communication with technicians is another critical function of position.
  • Knowledge of appropriate safety procedures
  • Knowledge of changeovers/cleaning/set-up, work instructions
  • Knowledge of typical utility system operations associated with fiber manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to perform mathematical computation; problem solving.
  • Knowledge of performance standards.
  • Effectively gain cooperation from others.
  • Basic technical skills & knowledge.
  • Ability to use PC and DCS systems, programs, and software.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to constantly produce at established production rates.
  • Ability to follow verbal or written directions.
  • Ability to read gauges, dials, meters and set controllers
  • Ability to coordinate hand-arm manipulations
