Job Summary

The Corporate Accountant supports the Corporate Accounting group in a key accounting role and is responsible for the month-end close process, reconciliation reporting, variance analysis, audits, enforcing department accounting policies and other ad-hoc projects. Additionally, this role assists with other internal and external financial reporting activities.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for the monthly and quarterly closing process for a variety of accounting areas.

  • Improves and assists in the creation of new processes to optimize and standardize our global accounting processes.

  • Partners with peers on the team, as well as cross functionally with those in other areas such as Analytical Finance, Treasury and Tax.

  • Responsible for performing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting requirements, including, but not limited to, journal entries, reconciliations, analysis of activities and reporting. Specific areas of responsibility include fixed assets, prepaid accounts, internal and external reporting activities, acquisition accounting and assistance with other miscellaneous close activities.

  • Supports other activities and processes such as the external reporting function, external audits and internal audits.

  • Performs other special ad hoc projects as needed. *LI-CB1

In addition to the PolyOne Competencies required for all jobs, the following qualifications are required for this job:

Required Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA certification or equivalent preferred

Required Length & Type of Experience:

  • 2 to 4 years’ experience, including the following:
    • General ledger accounting
    • SOX compliance
    • SEC reporting
    • Public accounting
    • GAAP
