We are currently looking to extend our team with an:

EH&S SUPERVISOR

The EH&S Supervisor is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating safety, health and environmental compliance and other programs that result in EH&S regulatory and corporate compliance in manufacturing.

The scope is the Tossiat plant (all activities) – Avient design (Lyon).

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED

  • Responsible for compliance with all applicable regulatory, plant and corporate EHS and related policies and procedures. Develops and maintains safety systems, policies, and procedures for the site.
  • Responsible for Emergency Response functions, roles and responsibilities in accordance with site emergency response plan. 
  • Responsible for Safety “road map” update and related action implementation. 
  • Responsible to ensure equipment and facilities are installed maintained and used in compliance with all applicable regulatory, site and corporate requirements. 
  • Conduct risk analysis to identify potential safety and health concerns and hazards.
  • Ensures that all EHS reporting is completed timely and accurately. This includes Avient-required, government, agency and other reporting. 
  • Chairs Safety Committee meetings. Ensure related reporting and communication. 
  • Chairs Site Emergency Response Team and manages new chemical approval process.
  • Trains employees and management in safe practices and EHS procedures. 
  • Responsible for all safety-related permit programs. 
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving site security programs. 
  • Responsible for ensuring that all waste streams are properly classified and handled. 
  • Ensures that EHS standards are met by all onsite contract services.
  • Maintain existing certification (e.g. ISO 14001) and develop new ones in accordance with management strategy (RC14001).
  • Coordinates activities with local fire departments and other government/civic functions on inspection of facilities. 
  • Participation on projects, teams as required.
  • Implement safety standards and cardinal rules and translate and adapt SOP’s into local requirements.
  • Participate in meetings both internally and in the European network.
  • Safety advisor for dangerous goods.
  • Part of site management teams. 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Completed Bachelors in EH&S, engineering or related. 
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing industry in EH&S.
  • Project Management experience. 
  • Self-Motivated.
  • Advanced analytical skills.
  • Skilled communicator. 
  • Microsoft software skills.
