We are looking to extend our EMEA trade compliance team with a:


Location: Pommerloch (Luxembourg)

The Junior Export Control Specialist is responsible for managing trade compliance elements of import and export operations for Europe. This is a great opportunity to actively take part in the building of our International trade compliance process and department as well as in our software implementation for Export activities. The position will focus on classification of manufactured and purchased products, managing export documents for our shipping entities in Europe and maintain PolyOne European Free Trade Agreement (FTA) program. Some travel may be required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate classification of products for international shipments from and into Europe and intercommunity shipments within Europe
• Manage and handle export documents (EX1, ABD, EUR1, ATR, COO) for our entities in Europe
• Collect all necessary information to ensure creation of export documents to allow delivery in time and
• Ensure all time compliance in regards to national customs authorities, existing license and EU regulation also Export control
• Maintaining Free Trade Agreement program and license
• Solicit, review, and approve FTA (long term supplier declaration) from vendors
• Monitor and update FTA license if needed with local customs authorities
• Identify changes in applicable rules, regulations, standards and related trends in the trade area that are relevant to the Trade Compliance Program and recommend necessary modifications to policies and procedures
• Assist the European Trade Compliance Leader to ensure all import and export related activities are in compliance with regulations
• Communicate directly with Sourcing, Accounting, Customer Service, Logistics, and Product Stewardship, IT, freight forwarders and customs brokers
• Ensure compliance efforts are documented, monitored and audited to track efficacy
• Perform other work related tasks as assigned by the Global Trade Compliance Manager.



·         Relevant Degree related to international trade, import/export.

·         Exposure in handling export documents or trading forms and regulation.

·         Strong knowledge in international trade compliance/ export regulations

·         German and English fluent

·         Organization skills and strong sense of details highly required

·         Ability to work under pressure and deal with unforeseen events.
