Job Summary

The purpose of this role is to improve work efficiency within the Maintenance department through the development of detailed work packages and spare parts management. This is accomplished by eliminating delays in the planning, scheduling, coordination, kitting and work execution. Developing and managing the MRO process will also be a vital portion of the daily activities.


The role of the Maintenance Planner is critical to the ongoing success of the Maintenance and Reliability effort. The Planner is responsible for identifying the elements of an executable work package that should contain, the work plan, the necessary materials, tools, permits, and labor requirements prior to being scheduled.  Planners also update and adjust existing job plans and equipment data to ensure accurate files for work execution.

 
 
Essential Functions
  • Prepare and develop weekly work schedules for routine and corrective/breakdown maintenance activities for all non-emergency maintenance work.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities between all departments, with outside contractors, and among various work groups to ensure that jobs progress in a safe and efficient manner
  • Setting-up and maintaining any preventive maintenance work orders established in the Company’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) including: job plans, frequency of work, crafts, man-hours, and parts/tools required;
  • Organize and maintain equipment history files, equipment information and vendor literature to assist with planning activities in plant files both electronically and on paper. Maintain complete and accurate records within the CMMS
  • Managing and maintaining the work flow process (work identification, planning, scheduling, execution, and auditing);
  • Running reports so the Maintenance Manager can monitor the daily, weekly, and monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
  • Creates effective and sequenced work plans to effectively execute required work to ensure asset health and overall production quality.
  • Determine documentation, drawings, instruction manuals, parts, supplies, tools, and/or special equipment needed for planned activity and ensure items are staged and/or available prior to the start of the planned activity
  • Plan all applicable compliance activities (pressure vessel, relief value, substation inspections, etc) and report status to appropriate associates
  • Design, develop, maintain, administer, and deliver a complete, parts and services program
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment by Engineering project and/or Maintenance parts list/inventory reports
  • Manage the storeroom for all items purchased, communicate activities to the team, nurture Customer Relationships, identify and pursue new product opportunities.
  • May drive a pick-up truck or maintenance vehicle in the plant and/or to pick-up parts from local vendors

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Experience in an MRO purchasing/buyer position or Maintenance preferred
  • SAP, eMaint related system experience preferred.
  • Experience in working cross functionally.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated prioritization skills in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
  • Excellent Computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word & Excel software applications.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
