Reporting to the Production Specialists, the Coordinator provides leadership with respect to safety, quality, and productivity for a team of Associates in operating the plant on a day to day basis. The Coordinator’s area of responsibility is generally confined to the production area but on off-hours is responsible for and in control of the entire plant site. The Coordinator has direct supervisory responsibilities and authority for all members of his/her team with a focus on improving the reliability of the processing equipment in the plant. The Reliability Coordinator is primarily responsible for the following items: 1. The safe operation of the plant and the safety of all Associates 2. Production of quality product 3. Lead teamwork approach 4. Improving the reliability of the plant operating equipment through a comprehensive PM and PPM system. 5. Addressing any emergency maintenance tasks that occur on his/her shift 6. Assisting with other jobs as requires within production teams Key Job Responsibilities: Safety - Consistently emphasize safety as the number one priority - Intervene when any Associate or contractor’s behavior is unsafe - Lead by example – wear PPE at all times and always follow appropriate safety procedures - Immediately address any safety issues - Have a good working knowledge of all safety procedures and policies - Ensure that all personnel are adequately trained to perform a job safely. - Take the leadership role in any off hours emergency situation with respect to determining when evacuations are necessary and dealing with outside emergency services - Insure that all team members have access to required safety equipment Housekeeping - Insure that entire team participates in plant cleanup throughout the shift - Address significant housekeeping issues immediately even if it requires shutting down lines - Assist in the cleanup of common plant areas - Set high standards for housekeeping and assign manpower to appropriate areas when needed. If required, shut down lines to resolve housekeeping issues. People Skills - Promote and insist upon teamwork among the team - Insure that all members of the team are given opportunity to take allocated breaks without sacrificing plant performance. - Use progressive discipline to address any significant people issue Verbal warning 2nd verbal warning with note to Production Specialist Send Associate home and follow-up with Production Specialist - Equitably assign team members to jobs - Intervene when any team member is abusing break policy - Intervene when any team member’s behavior is in your judgement not conducive to the workplace, unprofessional, or is detrimental to the team. Administration - Lead resolution of turnover issues - Review machine utilization sheets for accuracy - Coordinate required maintenance and insure work orders are written for needed work Communication - Act as focal point for shift transition communication - Act as focal point for ensuring required MOC communications take place with all people on shift - Communicate special instructions and assignments to team Reliability - Completion of all required PM and PPM tasks. This would include filter changes, stuffing box rebuilds, equipment checks during product change overs, and general equipment inspections. - Troubleshooting any electrical or mechanical failures in the plant - Direct efforts to expediently address all electrical and mechanical emergency maintenance issues that occur needs during their scheduled shift - Completion of EMaint scheduled work orders as directed by the Maintenance Specialist - Update EMaint with accurate information - Assistance on plant shutdowns with misc. maintenance tasks Qualifications 2 year technical degree and/or 3 years maintenance and production experience. Electrical- Currently certified or willing to become immediately certified to safely work on electrical equipment. Mechanical- Currently certified or willing to start training for welding certification. Conditions Plant floor environment. Temperature conditions can vary significantly. Work 12 hour rotating shifts. Job duties range from manual labor to troubleshooting and use of computerized equipment. Use of heavy motorized equipment including but not limited to fork trucks.
