QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

§  US High School diploma or GED equivalency

§  Six (6) months to one (1) year of  industrial experience

 

Additional Qualifications

§  Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/materials.

§  Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide and the apply these skill to weights, measures of volume and distance.

§  Must effectively communicate  in writing and verbally ,in English.

§  Competency in computer and PC software including email, internet, and MS office.

§  Must have manual dexterity for hand tools of various types.

§  Must be able to drive fork lift.

§  Must have problem solving skills and some mechanical aptitude.

    Required Education, Length & Type of Experience

  • Requires an Associate’s degree (A.A.) or technical school

  • 5 + years’ experience as an I & E tech in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Read and understand manuals, documentation, blueprints, standard operating procedures, schematics, and P&IDs
  • Repair and calibrate pneumatic field instrumentation
  • Repair and calibrate electronic field instrumentation
  • Install, program, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Have a working knowledge of process control fundamentals
  • Know how to tune PID controllers
  • Have a working knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCSs)
  • Have a working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration equipment
  • Properly use high voltage test equipment
  • Re-fuse high voltage lines
  • Remove and repair switchgear
  • Troubleshoot and repair motors for bearing and electrical failure
  • Properly size and install wire and conduit
  • Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing in English

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Requires standing, sitting,  walking, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and climbing of steps and ladders.

  • Must be able use hands to handle and feel objects, or manipulate controls.  Talk, see and hear.

  • Typically work is in a plant environment where the noise level is high. 

  • Must regularily lift, push or pull the equivalent of 55 lbs.

  • The environment is typically dusty and includes many toxic or caustic chemicals.

  • Work environment includes many pieces of hazardous moving equipment
