Job Summary 

  

The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, is responsible for all aspects of Corporate planning and analysis, having primary responsibility for supporting the Commercial and Operational Excellence teams at PolyOne.  This position has considerable interaction across all levels of the organization. This position has supervisory responsibilities and reports to our Vice President, Treasurer.

 

Essential Functions

  • Primary financial support for the Commercial and Operational Excellence teams, including monthly short term and long range planning, driving the annual budget process, monthly forecasting and ad hoc financial support. 
    • Support the Corporate Strategic Accounts and Inside sales teams, including developing sales and profit growth metrics and tracking progress.

    • Collaborates with our Lean Six Sigma program to develop plans to improve efficiency by driving operational improvements.

  • Primary resource for reporting monthly financial results and variance analysis - including associated analytical work to understand activity cost drivers and cost containment strategies.

  • Key analytical resource for strategic financial modeling to support Corporate financial planning activities for internal and Board requirements.

  • Manages ad hoc analyses for the Corporate finance team related to business performance analysis and support of investor relationship management activities.

  • Coaching/mentoring of team members.

  • Other projects/duties as assigned.

In addition to the PolyOne Competencies required for all jobs, the following qualifications are required for this job:

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance or related field

     

Required Length & Type of Experience:

  • 4-6 years of experience in the following:

    • Financial analysis

    • Financial reporting

    • Finance

    • Accounting

 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Microsoft office

  • Hyperion Financial Management

  • SAP

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication abilities

  • Time management and prioritization skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively and form a strong partnership with the business
