Job Summary

The Technician position will work in the Corporate Technology group. The Technician will complete compounding and testing on specific projects and have a high degree of proficiency with material processing on equipment such as Twin Screw and Single Screw extruders and  various molding equipment.

 

Essential Functions

·       Work with a professional technical staff in projects related to product development, process development or application development depending on the work area of the job.

·       Laboratory work involving new experiments and sample preparation.

·       Processes material using Brabenders, Single-Screw, Twin-Screw, Injection Molding Machines and testing equipment.

·       Accurate measures, records and reports of data.

·       Follow safety and housekeeping procedures.

·       Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

·       High school diploma or GED required

·       Two to three years in polymer processing is preferred

·       Mechanical aptitude preferred

Physical Demands

·       While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects or controls

·       Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

·       Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

·       Requires use of safety equipment as dictated by work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.

·       Work is inside and typical noise level fluctuates from moderate to loud
