Avient Corporation has a position for a Product Developer as part of the Innovation - Global Product Development team. This position supports our Protective Materials Business unit which was recently acquired from DSM Corporation and is located in Geleen, The Netherlands.

Join Our Innovative Team: Develop the World's Strongest Fiber!
Are you ready to embark on a journey where your passion for science meets real-world applications? We're looking for dynamic individuals to join our team responsible for all product developments of Dyneema®, the world's strongest fiber. 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

•    Crafting the Future: Develop new grades of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), optimized for spinning into Dyneema® fibers or other innovative applications.
•    Research Mavericks: Lead or contribute to applied and fundamental research projects aimed at enhancing Dyneema® products. Focus areas include UHMWPE and matrices used in ballistic composites.
•    Problem-Solving Extraordinaire: Provide support for troubleshooting in our UHMWPE production plant, leveraging your knowledge of UHMWPE synthesis.
•    Sustainability Champions: Play a vital role in our Circularity Program by contributing to chemical recycling initiatives for Dyneema®.


THE IDEAL

•    Master’s or PhD Preferred: Hold a Master’s or PhD degree (or equivalent experience) in chemistry, chemical technology, or materials science. Specific knowledge in radical chemistry is advantageous.
•    Experience Matters: Ideally, possess 3-10 years of experience in an academic or industrial environment, demonstrating a deep understanding of the field and a track record of impactful contributions.
•    Passion Meets Purpose: Demonstrate a high drive to translate scientific knowledge into practical, real-life applications.
•    Communication is Key: Possess excellent communication and social skills alongside strong analytical and conceptual capabilities.
•    Team Spirit: Embrace collaboration and thrive as a team player in our dynamic environment.
•    Data-Driven Mindset: Knowledge of statistics and experimental design is beneficial.
•    Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, the language that unites our global team.
