SR. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAG
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Develop account relationships, identify opportunities and capture service opportunities in the respective markets.
• Identify, drive and close new business targets consistent with short / medium / long term growth objectives.
• Drive new material specifications from start to finish working across various roles internally and externally.
• Develop and implement market and account specific strategies and growth plans; provide feedback on resource needs and emerging opportunities; recommend to Marketing and Product Management changes in PolyOne product / service offerings by evaluating product results and competitive developments; drive market development activities.
• Approach the sales and development process with a high degree of professionalism and effectiveness by successful utilization of customer centric selling skills.
• Develop deep understanding of and share knowledge of key markets, players within these markets, target applications, requirements, trends, and needs as well as PolyOne’s potential.
• Lead cross functional teams (sales, customer service and technical functions) to accelerate and drive profitable growth through solutions selling to targeted accounts.
• Establish a linkage between the customer’s business strategy and PolyOne’s capabilities.
• Manage strategic relationships, cultivate new alliances, and monitor competitive activity.
• Coordinate closely with regional sales teams as well as collaborating with technical resources as necessary to accelerate and drive profitable growth through solutions selling to targeted accounts.
• Ability to translate customer needs into product solutions activity.
• Develop written Account Plans for top strategic accounts including metrics to define annualized sales potential at each account.
• Manage strategic relationships, cultivate new alliances, and monitor competitive activity.
• Create and maintain CRM data and sales statistics as required.
Education and Experience
• Education: Bachelor or Master Degree ideally in Plastic or Chemical Engineering, chemistry or related.
• Minimum 5 years of proven commercial experience working in the targeted markets as an Account Manager, BDM, MDM, ADE, Marketing Manager or similar.
• Highly motivated, self-starter and possessing drive for success.
• Strong customer centric attitude, business acumen and not afraid of cold calling.
• Strong analytical thinking, organizational and collaboration skills.
• Excellent negotiation and persuasion capabilities.
• Ability to Influence and communicate across all roles and levels both internally and externally.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Hands-on ability and willingness when needed.
