Skills and Experience Required:
 
  • PhD or MS in chemistry, chemical/ polymer engineering or other related field and 15 years of related, progressively responsible experience. Requires expert knowledge of the polymer industry. 
  • Possess working knowledge in PVC formulations and processing.
  • Has managed a team of technical professionals for a minimum of 10 years
  • A technical teacher/ mentor who can create effective rapport within the team and across functions and business units.
  • Proficient practitioner of Design of Experiment and statistical tools
  • Developed and implemented technology strategies in line with business/ segment strategies, collaborating closely with other functions like Marketing
  • Lead improvement of technology processes using Lean Six Sigma tools
  • Proven track record of gaining new business in new markets via new application development and/ or new technologies
  • Experienced project manager for stage gated development projects
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  Must be able to project a strong and confident professional image.
  • A thought leader with the ability to influence cross functional teams to successful project completion.
  • Has a track record of developing and mentoring subordinates to be successful, and fosters a climate that is demanding but recognizes achievement
