Job Content:

At this role you will be responsible for the development and improvement of the technology for Dyneema® fiber lines. In particular, you will improve and develop current production technology, linking product technology to process technology, improving technology performance including for example, quality, consistency, capacity and/or manufacturing cost and product performance. You will also develop new technology or improve existing ones according to the strategic directions and continuously improve (output, efficiency, and quality) fiber and fiber related production activities, by means of modeling tools, fundamental understanding as well as pilot line facilities. At this role you will report to Global Technology Manager.

  • We are looking for a highly motivated process engineer for optimization of the existing fiber technology and support of introduction of new technologies and products
  • Managing and coordinating global technology optimizations and new technology development projects.
  • Deciding on involvement external parties with technology projects/collaboration.
  • Communicating over several functional disciplines and departments mainly within manufacturing and Innovation
  • You will act as a gatekeeper for Innovation projects and product developments to secure Innovation input for the fiber product and the fiber related production activities.

Details About Avient Protective Materials:

Avient Protective Materials (APM) is the inventor and manufacturer of Dyneema®, The World’s Strongest Fiber®. Dyneema® is a super-strong fiber that offers maximum strength combined with minimum weight, produced from a proprietary polyethylene material. It is up to 15 times stronger than quality steel and up to 40% stronger than aramid fibers, both on weight for weight basis. Dyneema® floats on water and is extremely durable. Dyneema® is used in extremely challenging applications and environments, including super-tanker mooring ropes, cut-resistant gloves and apparel in the glass and metal-working industries, rigging and sails for off-shore racing yachts, medical sutures for orthopedic surgery and bullet-resistant clothing and vehicle protection in the law enforcement and military sectors. APM has production locations in China, Heerlen (The Netherlands) and in Greenville- North Carolina (U.S.A.). ASM Protective Materials is also a partner in a high modulus polyethylene (HMPE) manufacturing joint venture in Japan.

You Bring:

·       Master’s degree or Ph.D. in in process engineering, material science or textile technology.

·       At least 5 years’ experience as process engineer

·       Track record on plant design in actual plant environment and execution.
