Job Summary

Position is responsible for a variety of warehouse duties including packing, pulling/checking customer orders, replenishment, shipping and receiving materials, and material handling and completing all required paperwork in accordance to company policies and procedures.

 

Essential Functions

·       This position will be responsible for the following areas:

o   Receiving function

o   Specialty Coatings shipments

o   Managing plant waste

o   Offsite warehouse

            Count, weigh or measure items of incoming shipments in order to verify information against invoices, orders, bills of lading or other records

·       Ensures all products are properly labeled, and packaged. Coordinates the shipment and shipping paperwork of materials per CSR instructions.

·       Responsible for monitoring the returns process

·       Perform regular material warehouse audits to ensure that material is undamaged and maintained in the correct bin location throughout the warehouse

·       Bulk tanker unloading experience desired

·       SAP experience required

·       Understanding of standard inventory practices

·       Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards

·       Organizational skills are essential

·       Perform regular material warehouse audits to ensure that material is undamaged and maintained in the correct bin location throughout the warehouse

·       Must be knowledgeable in warehousing procedures

·       Forklift experience needed, will train on specific equipment. 

  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must maintain Company approved Fork Lift Operator's Licenses.  This may include one or more different types of fork lifts.
  • 2 to 3 years of related materials experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience unloading tankers preferred. Must be comfortable with climbing on to tankers with safety equipment
  • SAP experience is required

 

Additional Qualifications

  • Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/material identifications.
  • Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English one-on-one and in small group situations.
  • Must have ability to reason and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of small hand tools, scales, spatula, barrel cart, hand trucks, fork lift, utility knife, and mixer/blender machinery and computer equipment.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. 
  • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and use foot/feet to operate machine.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. 
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and frequently move more than 250 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.
  • Work is inside and the typical noise level is loud.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and explosives.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is frequently exposed to vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemical
