Supervisor, Technology
Job Summary
The Technology Supervisor is responsible for the staffing, supervision, direction, training and evaluation of the Technology team. Directs and controls technical support to the lab in all areas to meet Avient's customers’ needs by ensuring that samples are developed in accordance to customer specifications and applications with minimal training and oversight required based on prior 3 years relevant experience.
Essential Functions
- Design, develop or improve products.
- Development of new and improved processes.
- Optimizing customer processes and conditions.
- Tool design and flow modeling.
- Problem solving through data analysis.
- Train, develop, and coordinate the functions of Lab Specialists and Development Technicians and Sample Technician.
- Establish laboratory priorities for the business by working closely with Technical Manager, Sales Manager and Technical Representative to meet the requirements of Avient Business Groups and external customers.
- Establish requirements, including processing, testing, and product specifications that meet the buying customer’s needs and can be manufactured profitably.
- Coordinate product/raw material evaluations, conclusions and documentation, in accordance with all established standards and test procedures.
- Be available and accessible as a point of contact for customers, as well as sales and manufacturing associates.
- Create, review, and summarize all Developmental Inquiries working with the Technical Manager, Sales Manager and Technical Representative as necessary.
- Prioritize all Developmental Inquiries working with the Technical Manager, Sales Manager and Technical Representative as necessary.
- Provide customer service and support on technical issues and opportunities.
- Leadership role in assurance that we meet or exceed customers’ requirements.
- Provide technically sound formulas that meet quality and operational goals of the plant.
- Continually drive safe work practices and ISO procedures in the plant.
