Tax Manager EMEA
Job Summary
Avient is searching for a Tax Manager EMEA to reinforce its corporate tax team.
The Tax Manager EMEA reports to the Senior Tax Manager EMEA & India and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of regional income tax compliance, US GAAP tax reporting and tax audits.
This position will work closely with a wide variety of internal departments and external advisors to ensure Avient’s compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
Applicants must be within commuting distance of Pommerloch in Luxembourg, Geleen in the Netherlands or Knowsley in the UK.
Essential Functions
- Coordination of EMEA local country corporate tax compliance, US GAAP reporting and tax audits with the corporate tax department, EMEA finance team members and external advisors.
- Support regional financial controllers and their teams with US GAAP tax reporting including return-to-provision adjustments to ensure accurate financial statements.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including external advisors, accountants, and tax authorities.
- Responsible for enforcing tax accounting policies and training for local country finance teams.
- Evaluate impact of changes in international (e.g. OECD, EU) and local tax law on Avient’s tax position.
- Analyse direct tax processes and identify areas for improvement, including automation and streamlining of procedures.
- Provide tax technical support on ad-hoc special projects such as M&A, cash repatriation, joint ventures, group financing, and reorganisations.
- Assist in the implementation of Avient’s tax strategy that best supports the ongoing growth of our business.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, tax, or a related financial discipline.
- At least five years of experience in corporate income tax compliance gained with a Big 4 public accounting firm or the tax department of a US listed multinational.
Additional Qualifications
- Professional qualification in tax or accounting (CTA, ADIT, CPA, CA or other equivalent).
- Broad knowledge of the EU tax system and transfer pricing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and an ability to build relationships at all levels of the Avient group.
- Ability to manage multiple work streams and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience with tax compliance software (OneSource) and ERP systems (S/4 Hana, HFM).
- Fluent in English. Fluency in a second European language is a plus.
