Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Degree in a technical field of study, engineering or chemistry. Requires strong working knowledge in wire and cable applications including processing, troubleshooting, and formulations.
  • Knowledgeable in cable standards including UL, ICEA, CSA, and other cable listing standards
  • Develops and grows an understanding and knowledge of PolyOne’s products
  • Individuals in this position must have the ability to actively listen to customer and their opportunities, efficiently troubleshoot problems and implement solutions in a timely and customer focused manner.
  • Must be fluent in English – written and verbal.
  • Must have the ability to ask probing questions to truly understand product and market opportunities and to convey these customer technical requirements back to the internal organization in order to develop an approach and to implement a project which will be successful.
  • Able to multitask multiple projects
  • Strong project management skills
  • Knowledge of statistical design techniques such as DOE and DMAIC approach to troubleshooting
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft family
  • Demonstrated analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • PVC experience is highly desirable, but not a requirement
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills that will ensure the inclusion of PolyOne products into the design and function of identified customer products
 Required Length & Type of Experience
  • Three year minimum of related experience in wire and cable manufacturing and applications
  • Experience with direct customer interaction

  • Requires standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time, talking and listening. 
  • Must be able to walk and use hands.
  • Work varies from an office environment where the noise level is low to moderate to a manufacturing environment where the noise level is potentially loud.
  • Position will require travel to customer and equipment supplier site locations.
