Job Summary

This position provides a hands-on approach and technical expertise to develop, evaluate and implement new products and new customer projects.  This role serves as a key interface with customers, working closely with the commercial and technology teams to cultivate new opportunities, identify new applications, and help resolve customer issues. 



Essential Functions


  • Manage customer projects to assist the commercial team in closing new business
  • Develop key support tools for new products, including training packages, technical data sheets, technical reports, and other support literature
  • Give technical presentations and lead technical discussions during customer visits
  • Develop new applications for existing Fiber-Line products, with particular emphasis on coated and extruded products
  • Assist with product development, including idea generation, product trials, application testing and product documentation
  • Collaborate with the marketing, sales, and technology teams to help map future needs and trends in key market segments
  • Serve as a technical resource to other team members locally and/or globally
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task, managing projects in a cross functional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work with external customers in project oriented activities
  • Familiar with value creation and value selling through product performance and processing
  • Strong familiarity with coating or extrusion processes
  • Demonstrate a high degree of problem solving ability and initiative
  • Strong team player when collaborating with internal and external team members
  • Participate in the resolution of customer complaints/issues
  • Other duties as assigned 



Education and Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or related technical field

·         Minimum of 3 years related experience in synthetic fibers, cable, and/or              coating formulation


Additional Qualifications

·    Working knowledge of synthetic fibers or cable, and/or coating formulation

·    A team player with good analytical & scientific skills in development work, self-motivated and resourceful.

·    Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)

·    Excellent oral and written communication skills

·    Willingness to travel to support external facing activities (customer visits, trade shows, etc.)



    Complex thinking skills in translating customer needs into solutions

·         Technical aptitude

·         Professional presence, including excellent verbal and written communication       and presentation skills

·         Broad knowledge of solutions, materials and processing

·         Customer centric selling

·         Strong organizational skills required
