Twisting Associate/Operator (Hatfield, PA)

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Shift Leader and Production Supervisor/Manager, the Twisting Operator position is responsible for set up and operation of HGRC/ORC coating machines that are used to convert bare, coated, and twisted yarns into a finished product on reels according to customer specifications. Ensures the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost and meets customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with Fiber-Line policies and procedures.

 

Essential Functions

 

             Interacts with QA to provide samples at end of operation according to   SOP

  •  Responsible for the set-up and operation of the Twisting machines per customer specifications.
  •  Responsible for making minor adjustments of twisting machinery as needed.
  • Responsible for inspection of finished materials.  In addition, interacts with QA to provide samples at end of operation according to Twisting SOP.
  • Performs and documents in-process monitoring of twisting operations as required.
  • Troubleshoots and/or communicates abnormal conditions to Supervisor.
  • Performs all cleaning operations as specified in Twisting SOP.
  •      Performs all required machine cleaning.  
  •      Completes all necessary documentation at the end of shift.  
  •      Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
  •      Supports the vision, mission and guiding principles of the company. 
  •      Follows applicable ISO, EH&S rules and guidelines while performing any procedure. 
  •      Other duties as assigned.

 


QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Experience

·    US High School diploma,  GED equivalency or equivalent experience

·    One (1) month to Two (2) years of industrial/manufacturing experience


Additional Qualifications

·    Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide and to apply these skill to weights, measures of volume and distance.

·    Must effectively communicate in writing and verbally in English.

·    Competency in computer and PC software including email, internet, and MS office.

·    Must have manual dexterity for hand tools of various types.

·    Required to lift and/or move up to 55lbs

·    Certified in forklift operation preferred

·    Must have problem solving skills and some mechanical aptitude.

·    Able to work within a team environment

·    Self-starter with initiative, attention to detail
