ABOUT THE TEAM

Reports to: Global Head of ColorWorks

If you master the complexity of color science, if you think you are the right person to manage software and hardware for color measurement and for spectral data storage, if you have a genuine interest digital imaging; if you believe that physical reality and virtual reality are complementary and not alternative; if math is the language you fancy the most; if you refrain from being trapped by preconceived ideas; then, maybe, joining the Team of ColorWorks™ EMEA as the new Industrial Designer and CAD Specialist, is an opportunity you might want to grab.

Being instrumental to the evolution of the Color Matching and QC tools; joining forces and skills with our Industrial Designers, to lead the journey towards digitalization and photorealistic rendering; partnering with Conceptual and Graphic Designers to translate immaterial and emotional needs submitted by Customers in technically feasible products will be among your responsibilities, as much as partnering with both Regional Marketing structure and Local Sales organizations.

You will be part of the Global ColorWorks network: as such, the professional horizon and the scope of your activity will be global.

ColorWorks is an highly interconnected ecosystem: communication is key and readiness to speak in public is a plus. Your control of English is full, a second main language full control is highly welcome, willingness to learn Italian is appreciated.

 

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED

·       Plans, organizes and directs software tools for color rendering on Regional level

·       Can be consulted by the owner of current color matching and color QC software packages

·       Ensures the correct implementation of color matching tools & color library management within ColorWorks

·       Can be consulted by P&T to evaluate global best practices and their deployment within the Region

·       Supports ColorWorks product development and project management

·       Develops and implements SOP´s and Guidelines for color matching tools to be used in ColorWorks

·       Coordinates formulation transfer between the ColorWorks community in line with global processes

·       Liaises with OEM / Brand Owner in delivering proficient color management services

·       Supports new communication and media tools (i.e. apps, social media)

·       Attends technical meetings with raw materials' suppliers to evaluate potential innovative solutions

·       Co-operation with universities, aimed at R&D applied to color and to synesthetic aspects of color

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

University degree in Color Science or Physics with 2 years of working experience in a field related to Color Science. Familiar with computer graphics and coding in MatLab (or equivalent). PhD preferred.

• Background in color science (or, less preferable, in color matching), ideally with knowledge on polymer, colorant and additives

• 2 years experience in project management.

• Hands-on; pragmatic approach to process optimization;

• “Do the experiment” attitude

• Interested in design, art and aesthetics

• Must be able to work in a multidisciplinary team

• Must be able to travel

• Driving license

• No color deficiency, such as color blindness

• Fluent in English, willing to learn Italian, other languages a plus

• Good MS-Office skills
