Sourcing Manager
The raw material Sourcing Manager has responsibility for the development and maintenance of strategic initiatives through the establishment of supplier specifications, measuring conformance and identifying process improvement opportunities. Specific responsibilities include supplier negotiations, integration with business units and identification of cost savings opportunities and management of supplier relationships. This position will directly manage one or more categories with an estimated annual spend up to $100 million USD and serve as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for a business unit within our US-CAN Color, Additives, and Inks segment.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for defining, planning and executing Sourcing projects to improve the existing business and set the stage for future growth.
- Responsible for creating the project schedules, assigning key tasks, and partnering with/recruit cross functional teams to execute the tasks. Lead regular cross-functional team update meetings to ensure projects stay on track and are impactful.
- Facilitate supplier selection and negotiate contracts for key Avient and business-unit initiatives.
- Responsible for leading, developing, implementing, and enforcing supplier performance metrics.
- Responsible for the documentation and administration of all supplier contracts, confidentiality agreements, license agreements, purchase order documentation, shipping documentation, advance shipping notices (from suppliers) and all electronic documents required to facilitate smooth supply chain execution.
- Work with supplier base to continually identify process improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
- Integrate strategic procurement activities with business unit representatives where required.
- Report category activities to organization on a regular basis.
- Manage overall supplier relationships, including measurement of performance to specifications, negotiations, contracting and process improvement.
- Represent Sourcing as SPOC for a select business unit in an effort to understand the business and how their team operates, while building alliances and representing Sourcing’s point of view.
- Provide analytical and process improvement support to corporate sourcing group up to and including data analysis, internal reporting and overall process improvement recommendations.
- May supervise Sourcing Specialists/Coordinators.
- Other projects/responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
- Master’s degree or professional certification is a plus
- 3-5 years’ experience in sourcing, procurement or supply chain management
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends
- Excellence communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in sourcing and procurement software and tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
